Is This The Definitive Guide of The Boys On DVD? (July 31st 2003) If you are interested in everything Laurel and Hardy DVD then click here for a text-only version of a new 8 page magazine I am doing devoted to Laurel and Hardy DVD's. I am making these mainly for those interested in importing discs, and wanting more info about what is available. If you would like the full colour version then please let me know. No news yet on region 1 Image box set. Dr Pyckle and Mr Pryde is definitely available. Found somewhere in the region of ten different Flying Deuces so far, and still counting. Issue 2 is almost complete, issue 3 (kinowelt part 1, is almost there as well). Am currently working on a master list of all film titles (including solo films), for every disc in alphabetical order, for every country in the world - nearly anyway! see you soon, ant. |

City of Harlem Web-site (July 31st 2003) The City of Harlem has a new website that you might enjoy visiting. It's: www.harlemga.org When you get to it, it has information items on the left side you click on. You might try clicking on: "Oliver Hardy Festival"; after that, try clicking on "Museum", including "Grand Opening" and "Museum Website". Next, try "Clubs" and scroll down to "Berth Marks Tent" and click on it. You'll see a printable application form to fill out and mail in to join the tent. I ENCOURAGE each of you to try to join and support this club in Ollie's birthplace--we all need to offer our help to the great people of Harlem who have done SO much in recent years to preserve and promote the legacy of The Boys--and these nice people do it out of love and volunteerism. I'll be going to the Oliver Hardy Festival in October--just about 2 months from now. It would great to see other fellow Sons there. For the first time, they will be scheduling a Berth Marks Tent meeting for Sons who are there for the Festival. It's gonna be great fun. Let me know if I can be of any assistance. Hi folks, Greetings from the south of London! Remember at the Grand Sheik's meeting at the UK Convention in Birmingham, I announced that The Live Ghost tent wanted to host the 2005 UK Convention, probably in Bournemouth? We've decided we're definitely going ahead with the plan, we've struck a deal with a very nice hotel right on the sea front in Bournemouth. Of course The Live Ghost tent will be proud to host the UK Convention (if we ever find a large enough and reasonable enough hotel in London we might bid for an International Convention at some stage in the future but don't hold your breath). Fraternally Yours, Del |

At the Sons of the Desert International Convention in Nashville in July, Dwain Smith made the Founder's Award on behalf of our Exhausted Ruler, John McCabe. This is what Dwain had to say: "Formed almost ten years ago, this group issues one of the finest tent publications anywhere and boasts an army of workers any tent might envy. Ever supportive of Sons activities in many countries on both sides of the Atlantic, this tent has set an example of dedication and cooperation that tents everywhere might emulate. It gives me great pleasure to present the Founder's Award to the 2002 recipient, The Live Ghost tent, Oasis 179, London, England." A highly surprised Del Kempster went up to receive the award on behalf of the tent. Although he looked a bit stunned at this news, he managed to mumble these few words: "Well, to say this has this has come as a great shock is an understatement. I can't think of anything to say… I'm just very touched … whatever we've been doing right we're going to keep on doing it. Thank you very much indeed …. Thank you" |

The Live Ghost Organising Committee has decided to include the Intra-Tent Journal with every tent subscription from now on (beginning with ITJ No. 106). Members of long standing may remember that we did this when we first started but we stopped when the ITJ failed to appear for months. Now that all is well again with the ITJ there is no reason not to. As you have probably heard, our Grand Sheik Del Kempster has joined the Intra-Tent Journal editorial team. This followed a proposal to the Grand Council at this year's International Convention and Del will be pleased to receive any comments you may have about the ITJ plus any articles, letters, etc for publication.
